Today, Doubleday Field, the baseball birthplace, is used primarily for special commemorative MLB games like the annual Hall of Fame Classic. Many baseball legends have played on the hollowed grounds of Doubleday Field. It is also used for amateur baseball leagues like the MSBL that come from all over the country.
Doubleday Field officially opened on September 6, 1920 making September 6, 2020 the 100th anniversary. Sadly Covid-19 prevented the centennial celebration day. However the following year in 2021 two MSBL teams were lucky enough to be a part of a special day....
