DIVISION 44+ Stan Musial All-Stars

Under the bright lights of Long Island’s premier baseball cathedral, a different kind of magic unfolded. These weren’t fresh-faced prospects chasing big-league dreams — these were battle-tested men in their 50s and beyond, proving that passion, grit, and love for the game only grow stronger with time. 

The Stan Musial Long Island League’s 44+ All-Stars took center stage at Fairfield Properties Ballpark, home of the Long Island Ducks, delivering an unforgettable evening of baseball heroics that had fans on their feet and hearts racing.

The Stan Musial League — a cornerstone of amateur baseball on Long Island — honors the spirit of the legendary Stan “The Man” Musial, a 24-time All-Star and Hall of Famer known for his consistency, power, and unwavering joy for the game. 

For these players, stepping onto the same turf where professional athletes compete is the ultimate thrill. Many juggle full-time careers, families, and life’s demands, yet they lace up their cleats week after week to chase fly balls, turn double plays, and crush line drives just like they did decades ago.

As the sun dipped over Central Islip, the stadium — with its 6,000+ seats, vibrant energy, and rich history of sellout crowds — came alive for the All-Stars. Free parking, family-friendly vibes, and that unmistakable crack of the bat filled the air. Fans, many of them fellow players, family members, and lifelong baseball lovers, packed the stands to cheer for their local heroes.

Or a crafty veteran pitcher, with decades of wisdom in his arm, baffling hitters with pinpoint control and that signature “I’ve seen it all” stare-down. These aren’t just games; they’re celebrations of endurance, camaraderie, and the refusal to let age define limits.

In the 44+/50+ divisions, competition runs deep. Players from teams across Nassau and Suffolk counties earned their All-Star nods through consistent excellence on the diamond. They represent the heart of Long Island baseball — guys who grew up playing in local parks, idolizing Mets and Yankees greats, and now inspiring the next generation by showing that baseball has no expiration date.

"The Long Island Stan Musial Baseball League held it Annual All-Star Game weekend at LI Ducks Stadium this past Friday night and Saturday. Under a star-lit sky Friday night and a mostly sunny day into the night Saturday, nearly 200 players from 8 League Divisions participated in 4 All-Star games aged 18 to 52+. And it was not about who won or lost, but giving our players the opportunity to play at a truly great facility with many family & friends to cheer and support them.

A grand day like this, there are so many people to thank to bring this together behind the scenes and the actual event day itself. I  sincerely hope I do not miss anyone as there are so many people to thank for this weekend.

First, the managers who gave up their time to coach the games, Artie, John T, Matt, Brandon, Andrew, Ethan, Chris, and the managers who helped throughout the day, coaching. Second, my Board of Directors, especially Cary, Bruce, Johnny B, Frank P, who helped gather the rosters the past 2 weeks. Third, the unsung heroes who worked the concession stand & front desk, Rich, Sabrina, Sparky, Linda, Geri, Matt and many others. Fourth, the grounds crew at Duck Stadium who were a big help throughout the weekend. 

And last, but certainly not least, our President Jimmy, who works tirelessly to ensure this is a great day.

Everyone worked together to make this a great day, so finally a THANK YOU to the players, who enjoyed the day. This was a proud day for our League and all the hard work and effort of everyone who can take pride in the final result of our Annual All-Star games."
